Fir-tipen beverage
Description
Sbiten is an old-fashioned drink made from honey, herbs, and water. It gets its name from the traditional method of separately grinding herbs and honey in mortars before mixing them together. Fir sbiten is an essential drink during autumn and winter. It's an excellent preventative remedy against infections that tend to strike during rainy, damp, and cold seasons. For this sbiten, you'll need fir twigs collected from clean areas, far from industrial zones, roads, and similar pollution sources. Let's begin preparing fir sbiten: 1. Make a decoction using fir twigs, cloves, and cinnamon. Use young coniferous shoots, as they contain the highest amount of beneficial substances. 2. Let the decoction steep for half an hour. Then add honey, a pinch of nutmeg, and place the mixture over heat. 3. Simmer the sbiten over very low heat for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let it steep for a couple of hours. Drink fir sbiten only while warm—and stay healthy! Serve it chilled.
