
Lightly salted carp

Prepare the listed ingredients. It is best to use carp fillet, but you can also buy a whole fish first and clean and fillet it.

Rinse the carp fillet in water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut into serving-size slices.

Place part of the fish slices in a deep container and sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper, rubbing it in on all sides.

Peel the onion and rinse it under water. Slice into half-rings and place on the fish slices. Then coat another portion of the fish slices with spices and place them in a container, then again — onion. Continue in this way until all the slices are used up. Next, mix everything in the container thoroughly with your hands so the onion releases its juice and it blends with the fish. Pour in vegetable oil and place the container in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Cover with plastic wrap or a cellophane bag, leaving a small opening for air.

Stir the fish slices every 3 hours. After 24 hours, the fish will be ready and will become lightly salted. Place it on plates and serve with a potato side dish.
