Stuffed Sausages in Bacon
Description
1. First, preheat the oven to 190°C. 2. Peel the frankfurters, then make lengthwise slits with a sharp knife, but do not cut all the way through. 3. Cut the cheese into thick sticks. 4. Spoon a little sauce to taste into each slit. For this bacon-wrapped stuffed frankfurter recipe, you can use mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, or any other tangy sauce. 5. Carefully tuck in the cheese sticks. 6. Wrap each frankfurter with a strip of bacon. 7. To hold the filling firmly in place, you can secure the bacon at the ends with toothpicks. 8. Grease an ovenproof dish with vegetable oil and arrange the frankfurters in it. 9. Bake in the preheated oven. After about 7–10 minutes the cheese will melt; after 15–20 minutes the bacon will be nicely browned and crisp. For the last few minutes, you can switch to the broiler. Now you know: serve warm or chilled.
