Saltimbocca with cottage cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The dish is very tasty and unusual! You can use turkey breast, then your saltimbocca will be larger. Unfortunately, fresh sage is hard to find here, so you can add a pinch of dried sage to the filling, but only a small amount—the dried herb has a very strong aroma. Serve hot.

Step 1

For the filling, it's better to use ricotta, as it's softer than regular cottage cheese. Add sweet pepper blended with a blender, a bit of garlic, aromatic Italian herbs, and a pinch of sage. Season with salt and pepper to taste, pour in some olive oil, and mix well. The filling is ready!

Step 2

Cut each chicken fillet lengthwise into two slices. Pound them, being careful not to damage the meat.

Step 3

Spread the pounded fillet with the filling and place a slice of ham at the edge. Top with a couple of fresh basil leaves and roll it up.

Step 4

Secure the rolls with a toothpick or a piece of raw spaghetti.

Step 5

Sear the rolls on both sides over medium heat until golden brown. Pour in half a cup of water or broth (or even dry white wine) and simmer until cooked through—about 10 minutes.

Serve saltimbocca hot as an appetizer.
