
Tomato Salad for Winter with Onion
Description
Homemade preserves keep for a long time. Slice the ingredients into rounds and place them in a sterilized jar. Boil a marinade from water, vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour the marinade into the jars. Then sterilize and seal. Done. Serve at the table or store in the pantry.

Let's prepare the ingredients. In the ingredients list, I've indicated the quantities for one 1-liter jar or two half-liter jars.

Slice the tomato, onion, and bell pepper into rounds.

Place onion on the bottom of a sterile jar, then tomato.

Next, the herbs.

And so on, alternate tomatoes with onions, adding herbs, hot pepper, and garlic as you go.

From water, vinegar, sugar, and salt, make a marinade. Add the salt and sugar to boiling water, simmer for 1 minute, turn off the heat, and add the vinegar. Fill the jars with the hot marinade right to the top.

Carefully place them in boiling water on a cloth so the jars don't slip. Sterilize for 7–10 minutes, depending on jar size. One-liter jars for 10 minutes.

Tighten with the jar wrench, turn upside down, and let cool completely.
