Sugar cookies
Description
This recipe won't take much time. Mix together flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl, and set aside. In another bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar. While the mixer is running, add egg, brandy, and vanilla, and mix well. Reduce speed and gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until combined. Transfer the dough onto a work surface. Divide the dough into 2 parts, wrap each in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 3 mm thickness. Cut out cookies using desired cookie cutters and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2.5 cm apart. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes. Let cool and decorate with icing (optional). Serve chilled.
