Chicken Satsivi
Description
Homemade sauce is simple and quick to prepare. Satsivi, however, is a complex sauce to make. But if you follow the recipe, you'll succeed. I first tried chicken satsivi in Georgia and instantly fell in love with this dish. I've always enjoyed Georgian cuisine, but walnuts with spices and chicken are absolutely delicious! Do give it a try. The finished sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
Instructions

Step 1

Boil the whole chicken.

Bake the chicken in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 45-60 minutes, until fully cooked.

Step 4

Fry the onion until golden. Blend with a blender.

Pour 3 cups of chicken broth, left over from boiling the chicken, into a deep skillet. Add the minced onion.
- 6
Step 6

Now grind the walnuts in a meat grinder or blender.
- 7

Mix the nuts with all the spices.

To mix well, add a spoonful of broth and mix by hand.

- 10

- 11
Step 11

Place the resulting mixture into a deep skillet with the broth and onions. Mix well. Divide the chicken into pieces, add to the skillet, and simmer in the satsevi sauce for 5 minutes. Chicken satsevi is often served cold, but that's a matter of personal preference.
