Fish meatballs like in kindergarten
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Prepare delicious and hearty fish meatballs, just like in kindergarten, for your family. For the mince, use fish—I used hake. Blend the fish fillet, fried onion (it's aromatic and soft), and bread with egg in a blender; the bread and egg are essential to keep the meatballs from falling apart and help them hold their shape. I first sear the meatballs, then bake them in sour cream—this makes them taste just like those from kindergarten. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Remove the skin, bones, and innards from the fish. Cut the fish fillet into small pieces.
- 3
Step 3

Dice the onion.
- 4
Step 4

Sauté the onion in oil until soft and translucent — 1-2 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Place the pieces of fish, fried onion, and soaked (or in milk) and squeezed bread into the blender bowl.
- 6
Step 6

Beat the chicken egg, add salt, and season lightly with pepper.
- 7
Step 7

Blend the ingredients in a blender.
- 8
Step 8

With wet hands, shape the mixture into round meatballs and fry them in a pan with oil. Cook quickly so the meatballs brown but don't fall apart. If you're afraid the meatballs might stick to the pan, you can coat them in flour before frying.
- 9
Step 9

Place the meatballs in a baking dish.
- 10
Step 10

Sprinkle with grated carrots. You can fry the carrots beforehand if you like, but I decided to use less oil and fewer fried ingredients in the dish.
- 11
Step 11

Pour the meatballs with sour cream. If the sour cream is thick, slightly dilute it with water. Place the meatballs in the sauce into the oven to bake.
- 12
Step 12

Bake the meatballs for 25 minutes at 180 degrees. Serve the dish immediately.
