Fish meatballs in tomato sauce
Description
This recipe won't take much time. Here's a great idea for using fish mince of any kind—homemade fish meatballs in tomato sauce. I've tried this recipe using mince from both white and red fish—it turns out equally delicious. I usually serve fish meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta, although I'm sure they would pair perfectly with mashed potatoes or rice as well. Wishing you good luck with your cooking! Recipe: 1. First, soak the bread in milk for about 15–20 minutes, until it absorbs all the milk. 2. While the bread is soaking, sauté finely chopped onion in vegetable oil until golden brown. 3. In a large bowl, mix the soaked bread, fried onion, finely chopped fresh herbs, two eggs, a bit of grated cheese (to taste), salt, and pepper. 4. Add the fish mince and mix thoroughly. 5. With wet hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs. 6. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Bake the meatballs for 15 minutes. 7. Bring tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade) to a boil, add the meatballs, and simmer for 5 minutes. That's it—your fish meatballs in tomato sauce are ready to serve. Serve hot.
