Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients, let's get started. Gut the fish, remove the scales and innards, rinse thoroughly with water inside and out, then cut into pieces.

Step 2

2. Prepare the sauce from yogurt, salt, and spices. Simply mix the ground spices with salt and yogurt, add finely chopped herbs, and stir. The sauce-marinade is ready.

Step 3

3. Place the fish in a deep bowl, add the sauce.

Step 4

4. Mix well, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid, and refrigerate for 1.5–2 hours.

Step 5

5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil (I line it with parchment paper and grease the top as well—it makes cleaning the dish easier afterward), place the fish in the dish, pour the yogurt sauce over the top, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

6. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. When the fish is ready, sprinkle with cheese and leave the dish in the oven for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 7

7. Serve the fish hot with vegetables. Enjoy!
