Description

Of course, you can stew fish in tomato paste. But homemade tomato sauce is much more delicious. Besides, it's not difficult at all. River fish goes particularly well with tomato sauce, so for this dish of fish stewed in tomato sauce, I used pike-perch fillet.

Fry on both sides until cooked through. You can reduce the heat and cover the pan with a lid. Pike-perch is a river fish and takes quite a while to fry. The process may take about 10–15 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the sauce.

Blanch the tomatoes, remove their skins and seeds (this is optional but recommended). Clean the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and cut into pieces. In a blender, process the tomatoes, pepper, and garlic into a puree. Add spices to taste, as well as half a teaspoon of sugar.
