Fish under sauce in the oven
Description
For this recipe, you will need any boneless fish; I chose pollock. It's an affordable and tasty option. Fish prepared in "Béchamel" sauce simply melts in your mouth. Give it a try.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. If the fish is frozen, it needs to be thawed at room temperature; I did this in advance.
- 2
Step 2

Let's begin. To prepare "Béchamel" sauce, melt the butter and sauté the flour until it turns creamy in color, stirring constantly.
- 3
Step 3

Add the hot milk, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer the sauce until thickened.
- 4
Step 4

Remove the backbone and fins (the inner part) from the fish, then cut the fish into pieces.
- 5
Step 5

To save time on dinner preparation, I decided to add a couple of thinly sliced potatoes under the fish. Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil. Place the fish in the dish. Distribute garlic, pressed through a garlic press, between the pieces of fish.

Step 6

Pour the fish with "Béchamel" sauce and bake in the oven for 35 minutes at 190 degrees.

Step 7

5 minutes before the end of baking, add the grated cheese and return the fish to the oven.

Step 8

The fish with "Béchamel" sauce is ready. Serve it at the table!
