
Fish under carrots
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. The recipe for fish with carrots is quite simple, yet its amazing flavor impresses even the most sophisticated gourmets. 1. Wash the fish, clean it, and fillet. 2. Cut into portion-sized pieces and marinate in the juice of 1 lemon (30–60 minutes). 3. Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop. 4. Heat oil in a frying pan and add the onion and garlic. Fry until golden. 5. Peel the carrots and finely chop (or grate). 6. Finely chop the celery. 7. When the onion is fried, add the carrots and celery. 8. Peel the tomatoes and cut into small pieces. 9. Add the tomatoes to the pan with the vegetables. 10. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add bay leaf and allspice. 11. Add tomato paste and a little hot water. Simmer over low heat until the vegetables are soft. 12. Remove the marinated fish, pat dry slightly, then season with salt and pepper to taste. 13. Dredge the fish pieces in flour on both sides and transfer to a separate frying pan. Fry until a nice crust forms. 14. Carefully transfer the cooked fish to the pan with the vegetables. You can sprinkle with lemon juice. Cover with a lid and simmer for another 5 minutes. Fish with carrots can be served immediately at home. The dish remains delicious even the next day, and tastes great cold. Serve the finished dish right away.
