Boiled pork knuckle
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. What festive table is complete without a meat dish? This boiled pork hock takes about 5 hours to cook. If you have a multicooker, use the "Zalivnoye" (Aspic) program to reduce cooking time. You can use the broth to make aspic or a delicious, hearty borscht. Serve the hock sliced, either hot or cold. The dish is ready to be served.

Step 1

1. I really love preparing pork knuckle for holidays. Using a multicooker significantly speeds up the process. So, besides the knuckle, we will need onion, carrot, herbs (to taste), and spices.

Step 2

2. Place the pork knuckle into the multicooker bowl. First, thoroughly clean and wash the pork knuckle. If you don't have a multicooker, perform the same steps in a regular pot.

Step 3

3. When the water begins to boil, add herbs (I prefer parsley), salt, spices, and peeled onions and carrots. I always add garlic (about 3-5 cloves).

Step 4

4. Set the "Cold Cuts" mode and wait for the program to complete. On my multicooker, this takes 4 hours. If you're cooking on the stove over low heat in a pot, the pork knuckle usually takes about 5 hours.

Step 5

5. Remove the knuckle, let it cool, slice it, and serve.
