Rolls with nuts and honey
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. Making rolls with nuts and honey is not a difficult process. The dough is straightforward to prepare. It has a soft, pliable texture, so do your best to follow the quantities given. For the filling you can use whatever nuts you like. Be sure to cool the pastries thoroughly so they stay crumbly and slightly layered. You can serve them with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let stand for 10 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add soft butter. Rub with your hands until crumbly.
- 4
Step 4

Add the yeast mixture.
- 5
Step 5

Start mixing with a spoon. At first it will be a sticky mass, but it will gradually work into a soft, pliable dough.
- 6
Step 6

Cover the dough with a towel. Leave it in a warm place for 1 hour.
- 7
Step 7

While the dough is rising, toast the nuts. Shell them if needed. In a blender jar, pulse until you have coarse crumbs.
- 8
Step 8

Add the honey to the chopped nuts. You may need more or less than the amount given, because honey varies in consistency. Mix. The filling should be thick enough and not runny.
- 9
Step 9

Roll the dough into a sheet 3 mm thick. Cut into strips 5 cm wide and 20–22 cm long. Place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each strip.
- 10
Step 10

Roll the pastries into rolls. Repeat the procedure with the rest of the dough.
- 11
Step 11

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the prepared rolls on it, cover with a towel, and leave for 20 minutes. Then place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25 minutes. Take your oven’s quirks into account!
- 12
Step 12

When the time is up, take the rolls out of the oven and remove them from the baking sheet. Transfer them elsewhere and cool completely.
- 13
Step 13

If desired, dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve.
