Description
Delicious baked treats for the whole family. This recipe for cottage cheese dough rolls will appeal even to busy homemakers, as it won't take much time or effort. As a filling, you can use not only the usual sweet fillings but even savory cheese ones, for example. Nuts, candied fruits, or poppy seeds would also be excellent choices. 1. Working with the dough is quite simple. In a deep bowl, combine and rub together softened butter and sugar. Add salt, baking powder, and cottage cheese. Mix thoroughly until the mixture becomes uniform in consistency. Gradually add flour, mixing until the dough no longer sticks to your hands. Note that the dough should not be too dense, otherwise the cottage cheese rolls made at home won't turn out light and airy.

2. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate. You have about half an hour to prepare the filling. In this case, it's apples diced into cubes with raisins. A little lemon juice, sugar to taste, and cinnamon for flavor— that's it, the filling is ready.

3. Sprinkle the work surface with flour, divide the dough into 2 or 4 parts (depending on the desired size of the rolls). Roll out thinly. Spread the filling, leaving a small border around the edges.

4. Roll the dough into a log, pressing firmly. Grease the baking sheet with oil or line it with parchment paper. Place the prepared rolls onto the sheet. Brush them with beaten egg yolk (for a golden color). As a topping, you can also use poppy seeds, sugar, or sesame seeds in the recipe for cottage cheese dough rolls. Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven.

5. Bake at 190-200 degrees for about 25-30 minutes until nicely golden brown. Let cool slightly, then, if desired, dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon, for example.
