Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Combine water, oil, and egg. Add 0.5 tsp of salt and mix everything until smooth.
- 3
Step 3

Add the flour in parts.
- 4
Step 4

The dough should turn out like dumpling dough—elastic, springy, and not sticking to your hands. Shape it into a ball and cover it with a towel for now.
- 5
Step 5

Cut the pumpkin into small cubes.
- 6
Step 6

Dice the onion and potato. You can optionally omit the potato and replace it with the same amount of pumpkin or onion. Season the filling with salt and add your favorite spices.
- 7
Step 7

Add the pork fat ground through a meat grinder, or you can cut it into small cubes. Then mix everything thoroughly. The filling is ready.
- 8
Step 8

Lightly grease the work surface and rolling pin with vegetable oil. For convenience, divide the dough into 2-3 parts. Roll out each piece into a rectangle; the thinner it is, the better. Spread the filling evenly, leaving a border of about 1.5–2 cm on three sides.
- 9
Step 9

Then fold the edges on both sides and roll the dough into a log.
- 10
Step 10

Pinch the ends and the seam tightly to ensure all the juices remain inside during cooking. Prepare all the rolls in this manner.
- 11
Step 11

Transfer the roll to a greased steamer rack and cook for about 45 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

Brush the finished pumpkin roll with butter and sprinkle with fresh herbs. Cut into portions and serve immediately.
