Marzipan Roll
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Marzipan roll is a moderately sweet dessert with nuts. I know that athletes are allowed to eat this roll, as it's practically harmless for your figure (in reasonable amounts, of course). It turns out not too sweet and very filling. I like that it retains its flavor even two or three days after preparation, so it doesn't have to be eaten fresh. I hope you'll enjoy this marzipan roll recipe :) Good luck! Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Put the nuts in boiling water for a minute or two, then remove and peel off their skins. Place them in the blender jar.
- 2
Step 2

Grind the almonds into fine crumbs.
- 3
Step 3

Pour half a cup of water into a saucepan and add 200 grams of sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for another 2-3 minutes over low heat.
- 4
Step 4

Mix the sugar syrup with almond crumbs, then add 40 ml of light rum. Blend everything together using a blender.
- 5
Step 5

Now we start making the dough. Using a blender, mix the eggs, flour, and the remaining 50 grams of sugar.
- 6
Step 6

Add milk to the mixture and blend again until smooth.
- 7
Step 7

Place the dough in a large bowl, add yeast and salt. Knead the soft dough and let it rise at room temperature for an hour — it should double in size.
- 8
Step 8

After an hour, when the dough has risen, roll it out into a thin rectangular sheet about 0.5 cm thick.
- 9
Step 9

Evenly spread the almond filling over the layer of dough. Roll it up like a jelly roll.
- 10
Step 10

You get a roll like this. Place it on a baking sheet greased with butter and bake in the oven for 1 hour at 170 degrees.
- 11
Step 11

Remove the finished roll from the oven, let it cool, slice it, and serve. :)
