
Poppy Seed and Raisin Roll
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. From a yeast dough made with mayonnaise, all the pastries turn out fluffy, airy and tasty. You don’t add any butter or eggs to the dough. Compressed yeast can be replaced with dry yeast. You’ll need three times less of it. From the listed amount of ingredients you get two large rolls. For tea, coffee, milk or compote – exactly what you need.

Prepare all the ingredients for making a poppy seed and raisin roll.

Crumble the yeast into a bowl.

Pour warm milk.

Add mayonnaise.

Add salt.

And also sugar and vanilla sugar.

Add sifted flour.

Knead a soft, elastic dough. Cover it with a towel and place it in a warm spot.

In an hour to an hour and a half, the dough will increase in volume by 2–3 times.

Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each part into a rectangular sheet. Spread the poppy seed filling onto the dough. First, boil the poppy seeds for 10 minutes in water. Then drain the water. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the poppy seeds and grind them with a mortar or a coffee grinder.

Rinse the raisins well with hot water. Dry them and place them on the poppy seeds.

Start rolling the roulade from the wide side of the dough.

Let the roll rest in a warm place for 25–30 minutes. Then brush it with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
