Mushroom and Cheese Roll
Description
It works for both a holiday and everyday. I wouldn’t recommend swapping processed cheese for hard cheese—the roll will be dry and less soft. I specifically chose soft processed cheese without additives. The roll simply melted in your mouth. Good luck. Serve the appetizer at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for the appetizer. You can use fresh or frozen mushrooms. Wash fresh mushrooms and slice them into thin slices.
- 2
Step 2

Dice a large onion (or use two small ones).
- 3
Step 3

In vegetable oil, sauté the onion for a couple of minutes first, then add the mushrooms and cook until done. Season with salt to taste.
- 4
Step 4

Take one large rectangular sheet of lavash (or two square ones). Spread the sheet with mayonnaise. Fold it exactly in half. If you have two square sheets, spread one with mayonnaise, then cover it with the second sheet, and spread mayonnaise again.
- 5
Step 5

I folded my sheet in half and spread mayonnaise on it again. Spread the mushrooms with onion over the sheet evenly, leaving a small margin from the edges.
- 6
Step 6

Spread grated processed cheese on top.
- 7
Step 7

Try to roll the roll as tightly as possible, but carefully so you don’t tear it. Wrap it in plastic wrap a couple of times and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- 8
Step 8

After two hours, remove the roll from the refrigerator, unwrap the plastic film, and cut into portion-sized pieces. Place the roll on lettuce leaves and serve.
