Sweet shortcrust pastry roll
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. This recipe has been in my family for a long time, ever since I first learned about shortcrust pastry. Before that, I always worked with yeast dough, and shortcrust baking was completely new to me. I recommend you give it a try too. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In a container, mix sour cream, butter, vanilla, and sugar.
- 2
Step 2

Add the baking powder, gradually sift in the flour, and knead until you get a smooth dough that is slightly sticky to the touch. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.
- 3
Step 3

For the filling, cut the dried fruits into small uniform cubes, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon.
- 4
Step 4

Divide the dough into two parts, roll each into a rectangle, place a strip of jam on it, and roll it up into a log, sealing the ends tightly. Do the same with the dried fruit filling.
- 5
Step 5

Carefully braid the two rolls together. Brush the top of the roll with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.
- 6
Step 6

Place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes, until golden brown.
