Pike roll
Description
This recipe won't take much time. I really love various fish dishes and try to make them as often as possible. For example, last week I prepared an amazing pike roll at home, which my entire family enjoyed. The roll turned out very juicy and tender, and we ate it both hot and cold, concluding that it can be not only a main dish but also a great appetizer. Overall, I really liked this pike roll recipe, so I'll definitely use it again. I recommend you try making this wonderful dish as well. 1) First, we need to clean the fish, rinse it, separate the fillet from the backbone, and remove all bones. 2) Next, mince the cleaned fillet in any convenient way—either by passing it through a meat grinder or blending it in a food processor. 3) Transfer the fish mixture into a bowl, then add an egg, bread soaked in milk, spices, and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly until smooth and uniform. 4) Meanwhile, peel the onion and finely chop it. Wash the mushrooms and cut them into small pieces. Place the onion and mushrooms in a pan with heated vegetable oil and sauté until golden brown. 5) Next, lay out a sheet of aluminum foil on the table and spread the fish mixture evenly on it into a layer about 1 cm thick. Place the mushroom and onion mixture on top of the fish, then carefully roll it up into a tight roll. Wrap the roll tightly in foil and place it onto a baking tray. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 30 minutes. 6) After 30 minutes, remove the tray from the oven, carefully open the foil, and sprinkle the roll with grated cheese. Return it to the oven for a few more minutes, until the cheese forms a golden-brown crust. Once done, take the roll out of the oven and serve. Enjoy your meal! Serve warm.
