Belly roll in the oven
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Delicious roll made from pork belly with a caramelized crust is the perfect meat dish for making sandwiches, serving with porridge or pasta, mashed potatoes, or a fresh vegetable salad. You can optionally marinate the meat in soy sauce beforehand, but then add a little less salt. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the belly under water, cut the meat into portions without slicing all the way through to the skin, so the roll can be easily rolled up. Pat it dry with paper towels and sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper. Rub the spices into the meat.
- 3
Step 3

Peel and rinse the garlic cloves, slice them, and place on the meat.
- 4
Step 4

Carefully roll it up into a roll, tucking the meat inside, and tie the roll with string or kitchen twine so it doesn't come apart.
- 5
Step 5

Place the roll in a baking dish, preheat the oven to 200 degrees, and pour hot water into the dish. Be sure to add water so that the roll steams thoroughly, including the inside.
- 6
Step 6

Cover the pan with foil and place in the oven for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil.
- 7
Step 7

Brush the roll with the liquid from the pan and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown, turning it occasionally.
- 8
Step 8

Slightly cool the roll after removing it from the oven and taking off the strings or twine. Slice into rounds, arrange on a plate, and serve.
