Holstein-style chopped steak

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Holstein-style chopped steak (the name is too long—we simply call this dish Austrian-style steak at home) is one of my favorite minced meat dishes. I've served these steaks to guests many times—the feedback has always been enthusiastic. Well, I'm sharing my successful recipe with you—I'm sure you'll do just as well :) Good luck! The dish is ready to be served.

    We peel the onion. Finely chop two onions, set aside four onions for now.

    Mix the ground meat, finely chopped onion, and one egg. Season with salt and pepper, then knead the meat mixture. The better you knead it, the tastier the steaks will be :)

    Then add finely chopped greens to the minced meat.

    Form 4 patties of the same size from the minced meat. They will be about the size of a palm.

    Sear the steaks in butter on both sides over medium heat until a golden crust forms. Once the crust has formed, remove from heat and set aside for now.

    Slice the remaining four onions into rings.

    Sauté the onion in the same pan where the steaks were just cooked. Just 3 minutes—until golden brown.

    Now all that's left is plating. Place the steak on a plate, sprinkle with the fried onions on top, then add the fried egg. Garnish with herbs and serve. Enjoy!
