Chopped herring
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Chopped herring or forshmak is a kind of "poor man's pâté." It's made differently everywhere. Some make it with apples, others with onions. But I recommend trying chopped herring with potatoes using the 1895 recipe. This forshmak can even be eaten during fasting. I suggest frying the potatoes slightly, as it will give the forshmak a unique flavor. The finished dish can be served at the table.
