Instructions

Step 1

1. First, gather the most important ingredient — roses.
- 2
Step 2

2. Carefully separate the petals and place them in a colander.
- 3
Step 3

3. First, rinse them under running water. It is better to put the petals into the colander in small batches.
- 4
Step 4

4. After that, rinse them with boiling water. A couple of cups of boiling water is enough for one colanderful.
- 5
Step 5

5. Place the petals in a large bowl or basin. Add about 100 grams of sugar.
- 6
Step 6

6. To give homemade rose jam a rich color, add a little citric acid.
- 7
Step 7

7. Next, process the next batch of washed petals. As you prepare them, you will begin to see juice collecting at the bottom of the bowl.
- 8
Step 8

8. After the last batch of petals, cover the bowl and set aside for about 24 hours. After that, you can proceed to the next stage. The recipe for making pink jam calls for using a syrup—approximately 1 kilogram of sugar and 1 liter of water.

Step 9

9. After 24 hours, carefully pour the syrup over the petals and place on the heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Then remove from the heat and let stand for about 2–3 hours. Repeat 2 more times; after the third boiling, you can pour into sterilized jars.
