
Homemade Rolls
Description
This recipe won't take much time. Making rolls at home is quite easy. The only thing you'll need to practice is rolling them tightly. You can use any ingredients you like for the rolls. Rice and nori are essential; everything else is up to you. The appetizer is ready. Serve right away.

1. Cook the sushi rice according to the instructions on the package. Prepare all the ingredients for the rolls. Cut the salmon into thin, long strips.

2. Cut the avocado in half lengthwise around the pit. Twist both halves in opposite directions and "open" the avocado.

3. Slice the avocado halves into wedges.

4. Peel the avocado.

5. Peel the mango and cut it into long thin strips.

6. Clean the shrimp (if using).

7. Peel the cucumber and cut into sticks.

8. Line the bamboo sushi mat with plastic wrap. Place a sheet of nori on the wrap and spread a thin layer of rice on top.

9. Near the bottom edge of the nori, arrange all the prepared sliced ingredients in a strip: salmon, avocado, cucumber, shrimp, mango. If desired, sprinkle the rice and other roll components with sesame seeds.

10. Using a bamboo mat, start tightly rolling the rolls from the edge where all the ingredients are placed.

11. Compress the first "fold" with your hands, then continue rolling further using the mat.

12. If the rice or other roll ingredients fall out, don't worry.

13. Moisten the edge of the nori with water and seal it.

14. Cut the prepared sausage into 3–4 cm rolls with a sharp, damp knife.

15. Serve the homemade rolls with soy sauce, wasabi, and gari (pickled ginger for sushi rolls).
