Rolls with Smoked Pink Salmon and Sesame
Description
A delicious appetizer for any gathering. Fans of Japanese cuisine can easily treat themselves to tasty, filling, and most importantly — freshly made rolls. The filling in this recipe is simple: fresh cucumber, fish, crab sticks, and cheese. They take about an hour to prepare (including cooking the rice). Serve with herbs and sauce.

Step 1

1. While we prepare the filling, cook the rice. Rinse the rice 6–8 times until the water runs clear. Then add water at a 1:1 ratio and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook until done over low heat.

Step 2

2. Transfer the cooked rice to a container to cool and drizzle with rice vinegar (according to the amount indicated on the package). Let the rice cool, then take a bamboo mat, place a sheet of nori on it, and spread the rice over the sheet. Don't forget to wet your hands so the rice doesn't stick and is easy to shape.
