Rolls with capelin roe
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Buy capelin roe for sushi in white sauce—it will taste great with roe and any add-in: shrimp, salmon, or seafood. Be sure to add a cucumber or avocado to make the rolls juicier. Serve the appetizer to the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. Thaw the crab sticks in advance, wash and dry the cucumbers.
- 2
Step 2

Thoroughly rinse the rice several times, transfer it to a pot, and pour in water so that it is 1 centimeter above the grain. After it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to minimum, cover the pot tightly with a lid, and cook the rice for 15 minutes. When the time is up, remove the pot from the stove, place a couple of paper towels between the lid and the pot, and let it rest for another 15 minutes. Then pour the vinegar dressing with sugar and salt into the rice and mix well.

Step 3

Cut the crab sticks lengthwise into several slices, and cut the cucumber into thin matchsticks.
- 4
Step 4

Place a sheet of nori on the bamboo mat, spread a thin layer of rice on the nori, and leave the edge of the seaweed on the opposite side uncovered.
- 5
Step 5

Generously spread capelin roe over the rice layer, right in the center.
- 6
Step 6

Place the crab sticks and cucumber on the caviar.
- 7
Step 7

Roll the prepared sheet into a roll using a bamboo mat. Place the rolls seam-side down so the seaweed sticks together well.
- 8
Step 8

Using a sharp knife with a long blade, cut the rolls into slices about 1 centimeter thick, arrange them on a special stand or flat plate, and serve with soy sauce.
