Rolls with avocado, salmon and cucumber
Description
This recipe won't take much time. Avocado, salmon, and cucumber rolls were the first rolls I ever tried in my life. That's where my love for this wonderful invention of Japanese cuisine began. To this day, I've probably tried a hundred different ingredient combinations in rolls, yet avocado, salmon, and cucumber rolls are a timeless classic, so I keep coming back to them again and again. Serve with herbs and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Cook the rice until done, transfer it to a wide dish, and add rice vinegar to the same dish. Mix well and set aside.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the cucumber (peeled) and salmon into thin, long strips.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the peeled and pitted avocado into similar strips.
- 4
Step 4

Place a sheet of nori on the bamboo mat and spread the rice over it in an even, thin layer. Place the filling right in the center of the rice—thin slices of salmon, cucumber, and avocado.
- 5
Step 5

Using the mat, begin rolling the rolls.
- 6
Step 6

Roll the bamboo mat all the way to the end, then roll the resulting roll a couple of times so the nori sheets stick together.
- 7
Step 7

Unroll the mat and you'll get a beautiful sausage like this, which needs to be cut into 6 rolls of equal size.
- 8
Step 8

Serve with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce. ;)
