Homemade Rolls
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. Many of us love Japanese cuisine, especially rolls and sushi. But you can enjoy famous rolls not only at a restaurant or sushi bar—they can easily be made in your own kitchen. The recipe that follows can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Rinse the rice several times with cold water, then cover with fresh water.
- 2
Step 2

Bring the rice to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook the rice for 14 minutes without lifting the lid.
- 3
Step 3

Add sugar, vinegar, and salt to the cooked rice. Mix lightly, but do not mash it into a paste.
- 4
Step 4

Next, let the rice cool to room temperature.
- 5
Step 5

Place a sheet of nori on the bamboo mat and spread a thin layer of rice on top. Leave a few centimeters free on one side, as in the photo.
- 6
Step 6

Then arrange a strip of cream cheese, a few pieces of avocado, and a strip of salmon.
- 7
Step 7

And for the orange roll, do everything the same way, only instead of avocado lay out orange cut into strips.
- 8
Step 8

Carefully roll into a tight roll. Lightly moisten the empty nori edge with water so the roll doesn't fall apart.
- 9
Step 9

Place the finished rolls in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, then slice with a sharp knife dipped in water. Serve with ginger, wasabi, or soy sauce.
