
Milk Croissants
Description
The pastry is prepared simply and quickly. Making croissants will not be a big effort. They won’t take much time. Choose a filling to your taste, but with the lowest liquid content, then the pastry will delight you with both flavor and appearance. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

In warm milk, dissolve 1 tbsp sugar, salt, and yeast.

Add the egg, half of the specified amount of vegetable oil. Mix well.

Add the flour in parts. While kneading the dough, pour in the remaining vegetable oil.

Knead a soft dough, roll it into a ball. Place it in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise for 1.5 hours in a warm place.

While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Pour the dry poppy seeds into a saucepan, add 2 tbsp of sugar and enough water to cover the poppy seeds. Place over low heat and, stirring, simmer until the liquid has completely evaporated. Then let it cool.

The dough is ready to be divided.

Divide the dough into three equal parts.

Take one portion and roll it out into a sheet 0.5 cm thick. Cut it into 8 sectors.

From the side of the sharp corner, make two cuts. Lay out the filling.

Take one sector and fold the corners of the wide side inward on the piece.

Roll the croissant.

Do the same with the remaining dough. Place the prepared crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set the oven to 180 °C. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.

Remove the baked croissants from the oven and let them cool slightly on a tray.

Dust the croissants with powdered sugar.
