Rye flatbreads with kefir
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. At work I use rye sifted flour, but you can also use whole wheat if you prefer. To enhance the flavor, you can add sesame or flax seeds to the dough
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all ingredients before cooking. Sift the flour in advance.
- 2
Step 2

Pour kefir into a bowl, add baking soda, salt, and vegetable oil.
- 3
Step 3

Mix everything together.
- 4
Step 4

Add sifted rye flour.
- 5
Step 5

Quickly knead the rye dough; it does not need to be kneaded for long. The dough barely sticks to your hands.
- 6
Step 6

Dust your work surface generously with rye flour, carefully roll out the dough into a sheet about 1/2 cm thick, and use a round cutter approximately 7–10 cm in diameter to cut out the future flatbread blanks.
- 7
Step 7

Transfer all the flatbread pieces to a baking sheet lined with baking parchment, and prick each piece with a fork. Bake the flatbreads in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 10–15 minutes.

Step 8

The finished rye flatbreads can be served at the table right away.
