Description

This recipe won't take much time. Rice sticks with orange-honey sauce. I suggest a dessert from Italian cuisine that uses a yeast dough made in an unusual way—with rice porridge, flour, and orange zest. For thrifty home cooks, this is also a great way to use up leftover rice porridge from breakfast or dinner. In the finished product, you won't even taste the rice. I prepared this dessert in two ways: the first, classic method (deep-frying), and the second, baking in the oven. Both methods work wonderfully. From this dough, you can easily make tasty buns, delicious with butter for tea, or serve them with a honey-orange sauce. Serve chilled.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Place rice in a saucepan, pour in 200 ml of milk and 100 ml of water, add salt. Bring to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to the lowest setting and cook, covered, for about 14-15 minutes. Let the porridge cool down to room temperature. Grate the zest of half an orange.

    Step 2

    Step 2

Dissolve sugar and yeast in 100 ml of warm milk. Stir and let stand for 15 minutes.

When the dough has roughly tripled in size, knead it down directly in the bowl.

The dough will be sticky, so cover the cutting board with plastic wrap, grease your hands with vegetable oil, and shape half of the dough into an 8 cm wide rectangle on the board. The thickness should be 1.5 cm.

Place the finished sticks on a paper towel to cool. I also made some balls from this dough.

I formed a sausage shape from half of the dough, placed it on a baking sheet, and put it in an oven preheated to 200 degrees.
