Rice porridge with apples in a multicooker
Description
Fragrant and tender rice porridge will taste even better when cooked with apples. Your kitchen helper — the multicooker — will make this easier and save you time. You can use any apple variety, just add a bit more sugar if the apples are tart.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Put the rice into a deep container, rinse it in water several times until the liquid becomes clear.
- 3
Step 3

Pour the grain into the multicooker bowl and add hot water. Activate the appliance and set it to "Cooking" or "Simmering" mode for 20 minutes. Keep in mind that if you use cold water instead of hot, you'll need to increase the cooking time by 10 minutes to allow the appliance to heat the liquid.

Step 4

Meanwhile, peel the apples and rinse them in water. Cut each apple into four parts and remove the cores. Dice the apple flesh into medium-sized cubes. Do not chop too finely, so they don't turn into mush.
- 5
Step 5

5 minutes before the end of cooking, add the apple slices to the pot with the almost cooked rice. Do not add water—the apple slices will release their juice.
- 6
Step 6

Add granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. If desired, stir the contents of the container. Cover with a lid and continue cooking for the remaining time.
- 7
Step 7

As soon as the sound signal sounds, the porridge will be completely ready!
- 8
Step 8

Place it on plates and serve hot. If desired, you can add a portion of butter or floral honey to each serving.
