
Rice with sauerkraut and meat

The recipe won't take much time. Cooking rice with sauerkraut and meat is quite simple, and all the ingredients are likely already available in any kitchen. You can use any meat—I used beef. Serve hot.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Cut the meat into small pieces and transfer to a cauldron or any other thick-bottomed cookware.

Add vegetable oil, salt to taste, and fry the meat until a light golden crust forms.

Add the diced onion and grated carrot.

Mix everything and add your favorite spices.

Sauté the vegetables until soft, then add the sauerkraut, squeezed to remove the juice. If the sauerkraut is very sour, you can rinse it under cold water beforehand.

Then add the washed rice.

Spread the rice in an even layer (do not stir). Pour in hot water. The water level should be about 1 cm above the rice. Add salt to taste, cover the pot with a lid, and simmer over low heat until the rice is fully cooked.
