120 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

Potato vatrushki are made the same way as cottage cheese vatrushki. You can add herbs, spices, and garlic to the potatoes. These vatrushki make an excellent substitute for bread with soups and main dishes, or a tasty snack (like sandwiches). Besides potatoes, you can fill them with minced meat or other vegetables. They can be served with tea or coffee.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces. Boil in salted water until cooked, then mash into a puree.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Add 50 milliliters of milk, 1 chicken egg, 75 milliliters of sour cream, and 1 tablespoon of butter to it.

  3. 3

    Step 3

Knead the dough: sift the flour into a bowl, make a depression in the center, pour in 250 milliliters of milk, add two eggs, a spoonful of butter, and half of the sour cream (reserve a couple of spoons).

  4. 4

    Step 4

Knead the dough until a single sticky mass forms, then divide it into 20 pieces and roll each into a ball.

  5. 5

    Step 5

Shape each ball into a flat patty, and use the bottom of a glass to make an indentation in the center.

  6. 6

    Step 6

Place 1-2 tablespoons of purée into the indentation of the dough round, brush the vatrushka with sour cream, and bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for 35-45 minutes.

  7. 7

    Step 7

Melt the remaining butter and brush it over the finished vatrushki, then serve immediately.
