The buns are made from traditional yeast dough, although shaping them does require some effort. Step-by-step photos show how to properly shape the roll. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.

1. For a Moscow bun (a sweet bun with sugar), you will need the following ingredients: flour, yeast, butter, sugar, salt, and kefir. Add vanilla sugar optionally. The most important thing is to choose reliable yeast so the dough rises properly.

2. Slightly heat the kefir, dissolve the yeast in it, add a little sugar and flour. Mix everything until smooth.

3. You can mix fresh and dry yeast, but always use the type you're confident with. When a foam layer forms on top, the sponge is ready and you can start kneading the dough.

4. Heat the butter and add it to the sponge, then add the flour, sugar, and the remaining ingredients. Knead the dough.

5. Leave the dough in a warm place for an hour, allowing it to rise at least twice in volume.

6. When the dough is ready, divide it into portions and roll each portion into a ball. Then roll it out thinly and brush the surface with melted butter.

7. You can sprinkle the butter layer with sugar if you prefer sweet buns. Draw an imaginary line down the center of the dough and fold one edge over so that its edges meet the line.

8. Fold the dough in the same way from the other side. Then fold it like a book.

9. Cut the resulting strip of dough into pieces about half the size of your palm. Make a cut from the center of each future bun downward, leaving one edge intact.

10. Now unfold the dough layers into a heart shape. Place them on a greased baking sheet and let the buns rest for a while. Brush the buns with butter and sprinkle with sugar.
