Recipe for stuffed buns
Description
A great option for a snack or lunch. Potato-filled buns are especially loved by children; mine enjoy eating them simply with sweet tea. Feel free to improvise—add your favorite spices or other ingredients to the filling. Enjoy the result, served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

We start by preparing the dough. Sift the flour, and in a separate container mix warm water, salt, sugar, vegetable oil, and yeast. Mix everything thoroughly.
- 2
Step 2

Gradually add the flour, knead the dough and set it aside in a warm place for 20–30 minutes. Meanwhile, peel the potatoes, rinse them, and cut into cubes.
- 3
Step 3

Put the potatoes in a pot, pour boiling water over them, add salt, bay leaf, and cook for 20 minutes until done.
- 4
Step 4

Peel the onion, finely chop it, and sauté in vegetable oil until soft.
- 5
Step 5

Drain the water from the cooked potatoes, mash the potatoes, and mix with the sautéed onions. Season the filling with salt and pepper, then let it cool.
- 6
Step 6

Take out the dough, divide it into several parts, roll each part into a flat round shape, place the filling in the center. Seal the edges and prepare the buns for frying.
- 7
Step 7

On a hot skillet, heat the vegetable oil and fry the buns on both sides until golden brown.
- 8
Step 8

Fried buns with potatoes and onions are ready.
