
Beef Rolls Recipe

Wash a piece of beef and dry it with paper towels. Then trim off the membranes and slice it into pieces about half a centimeter thick. Pound each piece with a meat mallet.

Peel the onion, wash and dry it. Cut it into half-rings using a sharp knife.

Place basil, thyme, sea salt, ground pepper, paprika, and meat seasoning into a mortar. Grind everything with a pestle. Rub the beef pieces on one side with the spice mixture.

Place half a slice of onion on each piece of meat, then wrap the beef around it. Then add more onion and continue wrapping the pieces until the beef forms a roll.

Secure the rolled pieces in several places with toothpicks to prevent the dish from falling apart during cooking. Alternatively, you can tie them with kitchen twine.

Take a baking dish and place pieces of pork fat on its bottom. Put the beef rolls on top, brush them with vegetable oil. Arrange onion half-rings over the top and season with salt. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees and bake the rolls for 50–60 minutes.
