Homemade Cheese Recipe from Milk and Cottage Cheese
Description
How often do you buy hard cheese at the store? Do you ever think about what goes into it? I stopped buying hard cheese a long time ago, and I'm very glad I did. After all, cheese made at home is much healthier and tastier than store-bought. I'll share with you a recipe for homemade cheese made from milk and cottage cheese. The cheese turns out very tasty and tender. And you can give your cheese the flavor you want by adding different spices and ingredients (sun-dried tomatoes, herbs, nuts, or ham).
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

The milk needs to be brought to a boil over low heat.
- 2
Step 2

Mash the cottage cheese with a fork until there are no lumps.
- 3
Step 3

Then add the cottage cheese to the boiling milk and cook everything together, stirring constantly for about 20 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Strain the curdled mass through a sieve and let the excess liquid drain off and the mass cool.
- 5
Step 5

Then transfer the cooled cottage cheese mixture into a saucepan, add salt, baking soda, and an egg, and mix well until smooth.
- 6
Step 6

Add the hazelnuts here as well. Place the saucepan with the cheese mixture in a large saucepan of water (to create a water bath). Then set over low heat and cook the cheese, stirring constantly, for about 15 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Transfer the finished cheese to a small container and wait until it cools. Then refrigerate it (preferably overnight).
- 8
Step 8

Slice the finished homemade cheese made from cottage cheese and milk into thin slices and serve with tea or coffee.
