1. Wash the beef, thoroughly dry it, and cut into medium-sized pieces. Lightly season with salt and pepper to taste.

2. Meanwhile, place a frying pan on the stove and melt the butter in it.

3. Place the meat in the skillet and sear over high heat until a golden crust forms. This will help keep the meat juicy in the homemade pumpkin stew. After searing, remove the skillet from the heat.
