
Millet porridge with milk
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. The millet porridge will be tasty, fluffy, and free of bitterness if you rinse the grains thoroughly in several changes of water beforehand. This grain can be used to prepare not only a delicious and healthy side dish, but also soups, cutlets, and even desserts. Porridge cooked with milk makes an excellent breakfast or dinner—feel free to add dried fruits, honey, nuts, fresh or frozen berries. The finished dish can be served at the table.

1. First of all, sort the porridge, removing any small stones and other debris that might be present in the grain. Transfer the millet to a sieve, rinse it 5–6 times in cold water, then pour boiling water over it.

2. Transfer the washed porridge to a saucepan and pour in cold milk, add salt and sugar to taste. Place the saucepan over heat and bring to a boil.

3. After boiling, cook the porridge over low heat, stirring occasionally, until all the liquid is fully absorbed. At the end of cooking, add a piece of butter. Serve with soaked raisins.
