Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Pour honey into a saucepan, add sugar, then butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place the saucepan over low heat and heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat.
- 2
Step 2

Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Pour in the warm honey mixture, add the eggs and cocoa. Knead until smooth, forming a dough that comes away from the working surface. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- 3
Step 3

While the dough is resting, cut out the pieces of the house from paper. Divide the rested dough into 3 equal parts. Dust the work surface with flour and roll out each part into a 0.7 cm thick sheet.
- 4
Step 4

Using the prepared paper templates, cut out all the pieces of the house from the dough.
- 5
Step 5

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray and put the gingerbread pieces on it. Use a thin knife to cut out a door and several windows on the walls.
- 6
Step 6

Gather the dough scraps, roll them into a ball, then roll out into a 1 cm thick sheet. Cut out Christmas tree shapes of varying heights from the dough and place them on the baking sheet. Lightly sprinkle the baking sheet with flour, then place in the oven for 20 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Whisk together powdered sugar, lemon juice, and egg whites with a whisk until smooth. Transfer the icing to a piping bag fitted with a fine tip.
- 8
Step 8

Use the icing to outline the window contours. Create a shingle pattern on the roof. "Hang" a snowy "awning" above the door and chimney. Draw branches on the trees. Switch to a wider tip on the pastry bag.
- 9
Step 9

Place the base of the house in the center of a large cardboard sheet or a large cutting board. Outline its perimeter with a thick layer of icing. Position the walls and secure them in an upright position using paper strips, also attached with icing. Use icing to seal the joints between the walls.
- 10
Step 10

In the same way, place the first part of the roof onto the thick layer of icing, carefully press it with your hands and hold it for a moment. Do the same with the second part of the roof.
- 11
Step 11

Pour the glaze over the central seam of the roof. Trim the bases of the Christmas trees and arrange the trees around the house. Generously sprinkle the roof and cardboard with powdered sugar. Use cotton to create smoke coming from the chimney. Place a candle inside the house and light it with a long match.
