
Spiced cookies with orange cream

1. Soften the butter and cut it into pieces. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, and spices in a large bowl, then set aside. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

2. Place the butter in a bowl and pour the hot sugar mixture over it, then beat with a mixer at low speed.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the cream, vanilla extract, and eggs. Beat with a mixer. Add the butter mixture. Beat at medium speed.

4. Reduce speed to low and add the flour mixture. Beat with a mixer.

5. Divide the dough into three parts and roll each into a disk. Wrap each disk in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. This recipe makes a large amount of dough, so you can also freeze it for up to 1 month, then thaw it when you're ready to use.

6. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Roll out 1 disc of dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut out the cookies.
