
Gingerbread in a steamer
Description
The baking is prepared simply and quickly. Making gingerbread in a mantovarka is very easy. And don’t let this unusual method of cooking scare you, the gingerbread turns out incredibly tasty! The mantovarka can be replaced with a multicooker or any steamer, the main thing is to space the dough pieces at some distance from each other. The gingerbread expands quite well in size. Serve it warm or cooled. Perfect with tea.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Combine the egg, honey, sugar, butter, and spices. Place the container over a water bath and, constantly stirring, bring the mixture to a boil. Add the baking soda at the very end.

Then, without removing the pot from the heat, add a cup of flour.

Mix everything together and remove the container from the stove.

Then, in portions, add the remaining flour.

The dough should be fairly thick, but slightly sticky.

Form small balls from the dough and transfer them onto a butter‑greased steamer rack. Steam for about 25 minutes.
