Description

Homemade baked goods for tea. For those who don’t have a live Christmas tree at home for the New Year holidays, we suggest baking a gingerbread tree — it’s much tastier! Children will be very happy with such a treat. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the ingredients listed. The quantities are for a small Christmas tree. If you plan to bake a tall gingerbread tree, multiply the ingredient amounts by 2–3.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Place all ingredients for the dough in a kazan or a non-stick saucepan, except the flour and egg. Put the pan on the stove, heat over medium, and melt everything inside.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Reduce the heat to moderate and whisk the foam that has formed with a whisk until it takes on a honey colour. Turn off the heat and cool the contents of the container slightly.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Beat a chicken egg and pour it into the container; stir it in quickly before it has time to set.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Then mix in the wheat flour, shape the dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 20 minutes.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

After the specified time, roll out portions of the dough into sheets 1 cm thick and cut stars from them using paper templates or freehand.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Bake all the prepared pieces in the oven at 180 degrees for no more than 10–15 minutes. Remember that they will rise in volume, so do not place them too close together.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

Let the baked gingerbread cool. Meanwhile, beat the white of a chicken egg into a stiff, fluffy foam for about 3–4 minutes. Then fold in all the powdered sugar — the mixture will not be thick.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

Put the icing in a piping bag and decorate the gingerbread cookies however you like. Let the children do it—they love decorating sweets. Let the icing dry for about 1–2 hours.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Then assemble the tree by piping a little icing onto the center of the previous gingerbread cookie and attaching the next gingerbread cookie to it.

    Step 11

The New Year gingerbread tree is completely ready!
