Simple pasta sauce
Description
Minimal ingredients — excellent result. Tomato sauce is the perfect pairing for boiled pasta of any kind: spaghetti, tagliatelle, farfalle, noodles, etc. The key is to adjust the sauce flavor to your personal preferences: salty, sweet, spicy, by adding various spices and seasonings. The sauce already contains oil, so the pasta will acquire a delicate, velvety taste. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Peel the onion and garlic and rinse them in water.
- 2
Step 2

Chop the onion into small cubes and slice the garlic. Transfer the chopped vegetables to a frying pan, pour in the vegetable oil, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
- 3
Step 3

Place the tomato paste in the pan, mix well and fry for another 1–2 minutes. Be sure to taste the paste before adding it. If it's too sour, add a couple of pinches of granulated sugar.
- 4
Step 4

In a deep container, mix salt and wheat flour into cold water, taking care to avoid forming lumps. The water must be cold, as flour immediately clumps in hot water.
- 5
Step 5

Pour the liquid into the pan and mix everything thoroughly. Bring the sauce to a boil for 2-3 minutes, then reduce the heat and simmer for another 1-2 minutes until thickened. At this point, you can add herbs or dried spices to taste. Turn off the heat.
- 6
Step 6

In advance or while preparing the sauce, cook the pasta and drain the broth.
- 7
Step 7

Place the cooked pasta directly into the sauce and gently mix.
- 8
Step 8

Place the pasta on a plate, pour the remaining sauce into a sauce boat, and serve everything warm. The dish can be garnished with chopped fresh herbs.
