Simple semolina cake recipe
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. This dish will be loved by everyone: both children and adults. The recipe is easily made universal by replacing the cherries with other berries or fruits. I enjoy experimenting with various fillings. The result is a delightful, warm dessert that can be made even better by serving it with good vanilla ice cream or a hot vanilla sauce. It can also be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 2
Step 2
Mix the soft butter and sugar together until foamy. Add vanilla sugar or extract, lemon zest, eggs, and semolina, and mix again.
- 3
Step 3
Mix the flour and baking powder, then sift them into the egg-semolina mixture. Gradually add the milk, stirring the mixture thoroughly. The resulting batter should be smooth, uniform, and moderately liquid.
- 4
Step 4
Add the cherries to the resulting dough, pour everything into a greased baking pan.
- 5
Step 5
Sprinkle with grated butter on top and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer comes out clean.
- 6
Step 6
If desired, drizzle the finished semolina cake with sugar glaze. The dish can be served immediately or after the cake has completely cooled.
