Simple apple pie
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. I usually call this cake "Guests at the Doorstep": it's indispensable when unexpected visitors are about to arrive, and you don't want to treat them to store-bought sweets. Once prepared, serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the yolks with sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- 2
Step 2

Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
- 3
Step 3

Carefully combine the egg whites with the yolks, gradually add the sifted flour, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon. Knead into a smooth dough with the consistency of thick sour cream.
- 4
Step 4

Grease the pan with oil.
- 5
Step 5

Wash the apples, dry them, and slice thinly.
- 6
Step 6

Place the apples overlapping at the bottom of the pan, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar, and pour the batter over them.
- 7
Step 7

Bake in a preheated oven for about half an hour. Check for doneness with a toothpick—if it comes out dry, the simple apple pie is ready. Let it cool slightly, cut into portions, and serve with sour cream or berry jam.
